This week we got a special letter from a good friend (along with special gift), introducing one of their latest creations in horology industry. Known for the slimest diver watch, featured on British GQ this September, @novewatch sent us the Rocketeer series which features a big 45.9mm case size. Despite of the diameter size, Rocketeer has a slim 8.9 mm thickness which is very acceptable for modern wrist. We haven’t been reviewing a lot of modern watches, but certainly there is the first for everything.
On a first impression, the sizing is more on the bigger side, along with the easily interchangable strap which stainless bracelet, rubber and leather with red accent as their supply, but our favorite one is the rubber. When it changed into rubber strap, Rocketeer change into a subtle look and perfect for daily which also featured 200 m depth water resistance. One of the best highlight from this series is although it comes as a elegant watch, this Rocketeer has a screw down crown function, detail that we really love.
However, if you a die-hard automatic fans, this watch will not be your cup of tea. Rocketeer carries Ronda 1062 Slimtech quartz movement and for the battery power, @novewatch claimed it will last for 6 years. An unique feature from this watch is a lack of second hand which enhance the simple look. Other highlight points from this watch are the types of finishing through the case which really highlight the features from this watch with the addition of their brand logo throughout the crown and back-case. Details that really "on point" for us.
Thank you Nove watch for this friendship letter and we are looking ahead for your next creation! Congratulation once again for your achievement at British GQ! For the one who’s curious about their pricing and product please head to www.nove.com to learn more.
